FR 419 / Spider Lake Road Chip Seal Project

The Town of Keystone, Bayfield County, Wisconsin, is accepting sealed bids for a chip seal project on FR 419 /
Spider Lake Road.
The project consists of a single-pass chip seal pavement preservation project on approximately 1.16 miles of
roadway, with an approximate width of 19.7 to 20 feet and an estimated project area of approximately 13,500
square yards. Work includes surface cleaning, pothole/patch preparation, liquid asphalt/binder, chip seal
aggregate, rolling/compaction, traffic control, cleanup, and related incidental work. The standard binder/liquid
asphalt application rate shall be 0.35 lbs/SY, unless otherwise approved by the Town, and materials shall meet
applicable AASHTO specifications.
Contractors shall include proposed binder type and application rate, aggregate type/source/application rate,
equipment capabilities, rolling method, and sweeping plan. An aggregate sample shall be provided to the Town
before work begins. Crack sealing may be included as an alternate bid item.
All work must be completed no later than September 1, 2026.
Sealed bids must be received by the Town of Keystone no later than June 10, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. Bids shall be
submitted to: Town of Keystone, 66015 Co Hwy F, Ashland, WI 54806.
Bids shall be clearly marked “FR 419 / Spider Lake Road Chip Seal Bid.”
Bids will be publicly opened at the Town Board meeting on June 10, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at the Keystone Town Hall,
66015 Co Hwy F, Ashland, WI 54806. The Town Board will review the bids and may make an award decision at
that meeting.

The Town of Keystone reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and award the
contract in the best interest of the Town. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder in
accordance with applicable Wisconsin law.
